Vacation Bible School June 15th- June 19th 2009

This will be very long so please be prepared!!! So this week the girls have been in VBS at St. Andrew's where they went last year and had a blast as usual. I remember when I was younger and attended VBS in Vermont when I was visiting my grandparents for the summer and loved it so I knew my kids would as well, plus they get to learn more about Jesus and meet new friends and see old friends. This years theme was "Studio Go". It was game show themed, and everyday they had a new lesson/mission. Go Lead, Go Risk, Go Tell, Go Obey, and Go Serve. They had 399 Kids attending this year and I believe about 150 volunteers, it really turned out well!

Enjoy!!! Thanks for reading!!!

Monday- Go Lead-The lesson was about how you can lead by serving others and they discussed the Bible verse Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Tuesday- Go Risk- The lesson was about a Jewish Queen named Esther who didnt want her people killed so she took a risk to save her kingdom.

Wednesday- Go Tell-The lesson was about telling people about Jesus. They learned about the Easter story about how Jesus died on the cross and came back to life again.

Thursday- Go Obey- They learned to follow and obey God, not others. They also learned how the two Apostles learned to obey God and no one else.

Friday- Go Serve- They learned about the story of how a follower of God named Ananias served God by listening to God's command to turn Saul into a Christian.

Here are some pictures from Tuesday and Friday(today)

Swimming Fun and BBQ!!!!

We went swimming a few times the last few weeks and went to a BBQ saturday and had a blast! The girls start swimming lessons next Monday so I needed to get them used to the pool again since they havent really been in one for a while except when we went to the beach in April and even then, they favored the hot tub lol!!

Clean room pics... Finally!!!

well, here are a few pictures of the after process of cleaning the girls room... this was taken today so for a week it has stayed clean... hopefully they can keep up the good work they are doing. I still have so much to do to their room and haven't really coordinated much since I can't paint the walls and do a few other things I want right now so please ignore the poster falling, the non matching decorations, and all their stuff they still have in their room! lol!! I am hoping to do another purge in 2-3weeks in preparation of a yard sale!!! Enjoy!!!

WOW... they have white carpet and I finally got to put their pink rug in there!!

I hung up some of their favorite purses on the wall(they are obsessed with Gymboree purses)

their closet which I still need to organize and move stuff

It has been a VERY quiet weekend at this house!

So our home has been weirdly silent since Friday morning... The girls went to my grandparents late friday morning and had a picnic and spent the night with them. So my friday was spent being bored so I went to see David at our friends house where he was working on a jetski then he had to take it out to make sure it was working right again so I joined him!! We went to AppleBee's for dinner then came home, watched a movie and that was about it for Friday.. Saturday Morning we picked up the girls then went to our friends Diana, Alex, and Keiths house to have a BBQ and swim. We were in the pool just about all day and we were exhausted. The girls spent the night at their house(yes, you heard it right.... 2 nights in a row no kids) They called us after they got a bath and were in bed and Alexis fell asleep before Alex started reading a book to the girls, and she ended up reading I think she said 2.5 books to Haleigh before she was out. They were wore out from swimming all day then took a break for a movie, then ate dinner, then back in for a little night swim with the "cool" lights in their pool! Alexis didnt swim at night because she was afraid of the reflection from the lights in the pool lol!! Anyways, so David and I just hung out at home most of the night, we did go to our neighbors house for a little while since both of us can never go over there with no kids! So today is Sunday and I am about to pick up the girls in a little while then Alex and I have to go to the church where we are volunteering for Vacation Bible School this week to get our shirts and help set up the classrooms, etc.. I am hoping besides me having to go to the church for set up will be a lazy rest of the day since I am exhausted and we have so much going on the next 3 weeks I am going to be ran ragged!! On a side not it has been about 2 years since the girls spent the night anywhere without us and surprisingly they did fantastic. I am kinda sad to see them growing up and being independent(well, for 5yo's) and being ok not being at home with me. I enjoy the break but I miss them terribly when they are gone and I am bored when they arent here even though there is a million things I could do to make the time to faster than sit here and wonder how they are doing even though they call me 50 million times while they are at someones house! lol!! Well, this is it for now, I need to get ready to pick up my babies!!! Have a good sunday everyone!!!

What a crazy 3 days it has been...

Since Sunday it has been a circus at our house. The girls have been in full chaotic moods and have had some listening problems more than ever. I have been such a doormat for the the last 4 years that they just don't want to listen to what I have to say since no matter how much I threaten, I never follow through with what I say so they have taken advantage of that and make it work for them since they are now older and a lot smarter than they used to be lol. Their toys have taken over our house and it has become unbearable. Their room was a total disaster area, it made a town hit by an F5 tornado look like it was never hit at all. Monday we were suppost to go to Ellenton Outlet mall with some of our friends but David had told them before he left for work that they need to clean their toys up in the living room/playroom area. Well, needless to say I continued the "you need to pick up.." all afternoon and even tried bribing them with "if you pick this stuff up(which would have taken a quick 10 minutes) we can go outside before it rains..." well... time flew by and I picked up more than they did then David got home and it was a repeat of punishment from earlier and finally they got their stuff picked up since David seems to get them to do stuff, but it was 5:30 already... so time for dinner and an early bedtime of 7pm. Tuesday we were suppost to go to the Zoo with my grandparents, cousin, her baby, and my aunt, well, since the girls behaved so badly the day before I just couldnt reward them for their bad behavior regardless of what was going on the next day as I am NO LONGER a doormat for them and they will not be crazy kids when they grow up because I let them get away with not cleaning up, etc.. So we didnt get to go to the zoo which was upsetting for me and they acted like I never said what we were not doing today... So not only were they not allowed to go to the zoo, they had to clean their train wreck of a bedroom. I wish I would have taken a before picture since you wouldnt have even been able to tell what color the the carpet was it was that bad. After 6 long tortured hours their room is finally clean. I didnt stop until 8:30 last night with the exception of a break here and there. I feel good that now their room is clean and I even hung some of their cute Gymboree purses and other ones up in their closet on the wall. I have a list of shelving units I want to get from Ikea to put in their room to get rid of the rubbermaids that hold a lot of their toys. That is my goal for the summer, to get ALL their toys/craft stuff/etc all organized and purged. Oh, and I threw a garbage ball full of trash and 2 garbage bags full of toys to get rid of as well and I still have 2 more rooms of stuff that their stuff is scattered in!!!! Purging is a hard thing for me to do but I am just so over it all, I am ready to let go!! Today has just been a relax and continue to work on things here and there to keep up with it all. I had about 4 loads of towels that I had to fold and accomplished that!! Well, this has been long enough, if you made it this far, Thanks!! Until next time!!! oh, I will get a picture of their clean room on here soon!

We have been very busy the last few weeks. The girls had their 5th birthday and we celebrated it at Disney World, they had their big dance recital and VPK graduation. They will be starting swim lessons in 2 weeks and Vacation Bible School in about a week so we have a busy summer planned for us so far! Here are some pictures of the recent happenings! Enjoy!!!
